The Space

Fountain Sizzlers has been a Bombay favourite for over two decades, and this new space at Phoenix Palladium gave us the chance to reintroduce the brand in a fresh way. The layout was long, L-shaped, and windowless, so we worked with exposed ceilings, lighting tricks, and clever zoning to make it feel open and vibrant. From cane-back chairs and brick walls to booth seating with fluted glass, the design nods to the brand’s history while feeling modern and inviting. We also added curated art and vintage objects to carry forward the nostalgia people associate with Fountain.

The Ask

The restaurant spans approximately 3000 sq. ft., with the client’s brief being to create a sophisticated and elegant family friendly dining restaurant. The concept for the space was Old bombay theme to life, combining timeless charm with a warm, inviting ambience.

The Result

The space was thoughtfully curated to reflect the client's desire for a family-oriented atmosphere. We showcased the charm of the old bombay elements with the help of patterned flooring, natural wall textures with the rustic brick look and the artworks which creatively combines the brand's identity in relation with it's journey of opening up it's chain in lower parel. Overall, creating a space that feels warm, timeless, and truly personalised for every guest who walks in

Through the interiors, furniture, fixtures, and other adornments, we created a space that felt quietly opulent and lived-in, creating the perception of being an age-old establishment and not a shiny, new office. The decor was our top priority and we invested a lot of hours to get the detailing just right. We focused on culture; installing art and stunning artefacts throughout the office. These finer elements truly brought the space together, and the result was a stately office space and a very happy client.

Ayush Arora

Director Operations & Strategy

  • Working with Sarah and Essajees Atelier has been an absolute pleasure. The design they delivered was both beautiful and intricate, with a perfectly “finished” look. Considering the short fit-out timeline for a commercial restaurant project, we were impressed that all deadlines were met seamlessly.
  • What we appreciated most about Sarah and her team was their decisiveness. In our experience, some design agencies can become too influenced by multiple client opinions. We are very passionate clients ourselves, yet Sarah’s team handled this dynamic exceptionally well—providing clear answers, firm recommendations, and solid reasoning backed by realistic timelines.
  • Yes, we did go slightly over budget, but the result was a stunning restaurant that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also designed for long-term durability and ease of maintenance. That investment makes all the difference.
  • Another highlight was the strength of the team and support system Sarah brings. All compliance requirements and drawings were precise, and contractors were managed with great efficiency.
  • Of course, there were a few learnings along the way, but that’s part of every process. Overall, we are thrilled with the outcome and excited to work with Sarah and Essajees Atelier aga
