The Space

This 5000 sq ft home in Kolkata was all about keeping things modern but still warm and personal. Every corner has something that feels like the family, from a kids’ room with a fun back-painted glass wall to a calm master bedroom that feels like a deep breath at the end of the day. There’s a capsule lift with a hand-painted mural, a kitchen full of smart little details, and spaces that are easy, lived-in, and pet-friendly. We loved bringing this one to life and seeing how all the ideas came together.

The Ask

The ask of Project Celica was to design a duplex home that feels open, bright, and spacious despite limited ceiling height. The clients wanted a calm and serene environment with pastel shades, white walls, and earthy finishes, balanced with elements of art and greenery. The design needed to meet the functional requirements of a family of three while ensuring the spaces look larger, lighter, and seamlessly connected to nature.

The Result

The duplex was transformed into a calm, light-filled home where pastel colours, white panelled walls, and earthy finishes create a serene atmosphere. Clever design elements like the mirror ceiling in the dining area enhanced the sense of height, while art, plants, and soft furnishings brought warmth and vibrancy, making the home feel open, spacious, and perfectly suited to the family’s lifestyle.
