The Space
This 11,000 sq ft home in South Bombay was such a dream to design. The natural light here is incredible, so we built the whole house around it, keeping things modern, open, and filled with statement pieces that still feel easy to live with. From dramatic bathrooms and custom lighting to small details like concealed doors and a window-side dressing nook, every corner was thought through. It’s one of those projects that reminded us why we love what we do.
The Ask
To design a 11,000 sqft duplex for a couple, that celebrated both of their personalities. They wanted us to create a space that they could call their forever home.
The Result
The concept for this space was rooted in the philosophy of yin and yang - a reflection of two contrasting aesthetics, brought together in a unified design language. The black and white checkered flooring, laid across the entrance foyer and passage areas, became the foundation and starting point of the design narrative.
Building upon this timeless element, we crafted a dialogue between classical design aesthetics and modern furniture, creating a balance between tradition and contemporary living. The architectural shell was kept neutral, allowing the bones of the space to feel calm and expansive, while pops of color were thoughtfully introduced through art and décor, adding vibrancy and character without overwhelming the harmony of the design.
Through the interiors, furniture, fixtures, and other adornments, we created a space that felt quietly opulent and lived-in, creating the perception of being an age-old establishment and not a shiny, new office. The decor was our top priority and we invested a lot of hours to get the detailing just right. We focused on culture; installing art and stunning artefacts throughout the office. These finer elements truly brought the space together, and the result was a stately office space and a very happy client.
