The Space

This 7,000 sq ft home in South Bombay is full of details that made designing it such a rewarding experience. The living spaces balance bold gestures like a red entrance door and custom Pichwai art with softer touches like hidden AC systems and fluted glass cabinetry. The master suite brings together hand-carved marble, ocean views, and a private deck, while the daughter’s bathroom plays with sculptural stone and bold red grouting. Every room has its own personality, but together the house feels timeless and deeply personal.

The Ask

The client’s brief for this project was to design a modern, serene living space that blends contemporary comfort with cultural depth. They wanted a minimalist yet warm aesthetic that could serve as a relaxing lounge for everyday use, while also feeling elevated enough for hosting guests. A key requirement was to integrate traditional Indian art in a meaningful way & to be treated as a central storytelling element that would bring character and emotional richness to the space.

The Result

Upon entering the space, we were immediately struck by the presence of expansive balconies surrounding the entire floor plate, offering breathtaking views of the sea and allowing abundant natural light to flood the interiors. This unique feature became the foundation for incorporating lush greenery throughout the home, softening the space and enhancing its connection to nature.
The hosting area is anchored by a striking Pichwai-style artwork, thoughtfully set within a custom wood-paneled feature wall, designed to frame the piece like a gallery installation. This traditional element set the tone for the entire space, adding a layer of soul, heritage, and narrative depth.
To maintain a sense of calm and cohesion, we curated a palette of soft neutrals, blush accents, and organic textures. These tones were further enhanced by the use of natural stone flooring, sculpted rugs, and carefully selected indoor plants, creating an environment that feels both earthy and refined. The final result is a space that effortlessly balances modern minimalism with cultural resonance, delivering on the client’s desire for a home that is both emotionally rich and functionally elegant.

Through the interiors, furniture, fixtures, and other adornments, we created a space that felt quietly opulent and lived-in, creating the perception of being an age-old establishment and not a shiny, new office. The decor was our top priority and we invested a lot of hours to get the detailing just right. We focused on culture; installing art and stunning artefacts throughout the office. These finer elements truly brought the space together, and the result was a stately office space and a very happy client.
